September Homilies 23

Included here is recent work composed this past Summer based upon notes written during 7:15 morning mass at St.Agnes Church 8/6

Crucified Christ yard sale

(Based upon the Po entitled Christ Climbed Down)

So where is Jesus ?

Did the parish priest leave you

Out in the Rectory garage

Abandoned as a family heirloom

Donated that just didn’t make the literacy

To be taken in the vestibule of the Church.

So where is Edna ?

Are you still sitting in the first few pews

Attending Sunday mass furious with rage

And spitting nickels into the collection basket.

So where is Nana ?

Sitting on the other side of the church

At the same mass

in the first row of the pews

Serine and proud fearless and devoted

In unshakeable faith,

So Where is my Father ?

After he took down and carried home

Every 70 pound plaster cast 14 stations of the cross

In the station wagon

To restore and refurbish

And every motherfucking14 steps to the Golgotha

So that the parishioners eventually discard in a dumpster

Because they didn’t dig the work he had done.

Let us pray-

Homily

68 years ago the hammer of hell

Was delivered to Hiroshima

The first of a one/two punch

The second a few days later on Nagasaki

To settle the matter

Since then the planet

Has danced upon razor blades

Of 24 hour annihilation

Where the survivors can expect

A slow lingering suffering and death

Some got the message on their phone

To duck and cover while they where

In 7:15 Sunday mass during the feast

Of the Transfiguration of the Lord

And evisceration of civilization

Practice run for the Ascension

When Christ told the Apostles

Keep all this under wraps

Till the real deal

To say Bye Bye

Iterating the Ancient Aliens

(inspired by a conversation w/ my son in the garage August 23)

Jesus was re-engineered

From a spices of alien Martyrs

Batting lead of in old school

Bloody brutal sacrifice

Promising redemption

Or damnation.

Years later suicide missions

In Kamikaze space ships

Where sent to earth right after the first

Nuclear detonation-

They would plant the cyber seeds

Of some lost toy like technology –

I mean what the hell ?

Their kids had outgrown them away

They knew we would reverse engineer

In the most simplistic mentality

Just waiting till we had embedded it

Into our total dependent consciousness

Then return

With the big kill switch

We would be ready then

Better Get Abstract 2.0 Box Office version

You don’t need to be in no hurry
You ain’t never really got to worry
And you don’t need to check on how you feel
Just keep repeating that none of this is real
And if you’re sensing, that something’s wrong
Well just remember, that it won’t be too long
Before the director cuts the scene
Yea.”

This ain’t really your life
Ain’t really your life
Ain’t really ain’t nothing but a movie.”

Better get Barbie

Better get Oppenheimer

Better put some pink shrimp

On the Barbie

Nukes on the Barbie

Nuke the Barbies

The grill of earth is ready

To cook brown and serve

I sure hope you like

Your side meat planet crisp.

From the North Pole

If you listen carefully

You can hear the icebergs hiss

Like Fizzes as they melt

Bring the kids

With their favorite food coloring dye

To make shushes

A family outing.

Nuke the Barbie

Better get abstract again

Put pink Shrimp

On the Barbie

Oppenheimer flavored

Put Barbie on Barbie

All pink and juicy

Put this foolish planet

On the Barbie.
